Nelly learns the skills to be a Service Dog

Nelly learns the skills to be a Service Dog

“Myself and my service dog Nelly have been together since September 19 of 2015. We have worked with Stacy from Pawsitive Focus since Oct 19th 2015 until Dec 7th 2015 with 16 sessions. Within these sessions, Stacy has been beneficial for me and Nelly working together, and the relationship we have built. She has taught us to press handicap doors, pick up items from the ground, reinforce down stay, auto-sit, come, potty training, attention on me especially when people and other dogs approach and the command block, along with a variety of knowledge from behaviors of dogs to building a relationship and working as a team. Stacy has been beneficial in my learning process and has helped change my life and I now can operate under what most people can see as a normal environment.” Jeremy B., Richlands,...

It’s almost as if my dog was bowling….

It’s almost as if my dog was bowling….

Does your dog bowl? I went bowling and when the bowling ball rushed down the lane and the pins went flying and made such a noise; it reminded me of the impact our puppies/dogs may have on us, our belongings and other people. Sometimes, it may be their tail sweeps across the coffee table and items go flying, or maybe it’s when your dog comes crashing into the kids or even you trying to get in the door, or just maybe it’s when they barrel through you to bolt out the door. Pawsitive Focus can help you handle the tail bowling features of our four-legged buddies. How? We can work on boundaries and controlled commands to help encourage gentleness and slowed body movements. I’ve had people call me to say their dog has trampled their kids, bolted out the door or has come back to them with such a rush of energy that they themselves have been knocked over. Although a reliable come is necessary, a come with a sit is more acceptable to anyone, right? Pawsitive Focus Professional In-Home Dog Training can help reward a quick come, but end in the area in front of you with a sit, not touching you. We can also help your dog reaction calmly when met not only in your home, but outside at your neighborhood park. How nice is it to have the dog who lays down for kids to approach or have the home everyone wants to come over because your dog plays freeze tag? These are some of the most talked about issues in dog training. In the game...

Bode learns manners in all situations

“Our lab puppy’s behavior, particularly his biting, was getting out of control and creating a lot of stress in our typically peaceful household. We were so happy to find Stacy at Pawsitive Focus who was willing to meet us within just a few days after our first call and come to our house every week, on our schedule, to help us manage Bode’s behavior and also teach him several basic commands at a very early age. It was a pleasure working with Stacy and we especially appreciated her “pawsitive” approach and flexibility in working with both Bode and us. With the help of Pawsitive Focus, in 2007, we were able to develop effective tools to influence our dog’s behavior in virtually any situation.” Kevin & Nicole A., Frisco,...

Behavioral Trainers and Groomers recommend Pawsitive Focus for Obedience

“Just met with Aaron Stewart today (5/29/09) of The Educated Dog. While talking to him he was going off on how “trainers” do all this crazy stuff & how he doesn’t trust them & he mentioned that there is only one person he’d refer to…but at the end of our conversation I said something about how I referred people to you & he said, ya Stacy-that’s the only person I trust to refer people to. So, I thought that spoke very highly of you :)” Heidi C. former owner of Aussie Pet Mobile West Plano,...
