Lt. Fred – All about helping my owner. I’m a service dog.

Lt. Fred – All about helping my owner. I’m a service dog.

“Stacy Ramsdell from Pawsitive Focus has been a blessing in disguise. Our experience with her started last fall, after Semper Fi Fund approved our application to obtain training for my service dog, Lt. Fred.  Being an injured/ill Marine is never easy to deal with different routines every day, let alone attempt to be focused enough to train a service dog.  Except this experience was unique, she built her training not just on her expertise but also to be able to work with me as a service dog handler and my dog’s basic and advanced commands before moving on to specialty training (to help obtain ADI certification in the future); a way that made training very attainable and successful.  Stacy has a gift for not just training dogs, but helping dog owners be patient and diligent in the efforts needed to succeed.  We have formed a strong bond with Stacy and know we can count on her ongoing expertise in the future.” Bert N., Jacksonville,...
Romeo Refresher – Service Dog

Romeo Refresher – Service Dog

“Our dog, Romeo, was already trained to be a PTSD service dog; but I was having trouble with his focus and attention staying on me. So it was time for refresher training and we got in contact with Pawsitive Focus. Stacy worked with me on keeping his attention on me and helped me to figure out what I needed to do differently. Romeo had the knowledge of what to do, I just didn’t. Romeo is a lover and I was letting too many people pet him that he had come to expect it. So his focus turned to “who is going to pet me” instead of “I’m working, what does my owner need”. Now Romeo’s focus is on me. We have people come up and say that he is so in tuned that we are walking in sync. When I step he steps, when I stop he stops. We are working together and it’s all thanks to Stacy and Pawsitive Focus!” Mike Y., Holly Ridge, NC Pawsitive Focus is Semper Fi Fund approved to prepare dogs for Service Dog Training and complete refresher...
Nelly learns the skills to be a Service Dog

Nelly learns the skills to be a Service Dog

“Myself and my service dog Nelly have been together since September 19 of 2015. We have worked with Stacy from Pawsitive Focus since Oct 19th 2015 until Dec 7th 2015 with 16 sessions. Within these sessions, Stacy has been beneficial for me and Nelly working together, and the relationship we have built. She has taught us to press handicap doors, pick up items from the ground, reinforce down stay, auto-sit, come, potty training, attention on me especially when people and other dogs approach and the command block, along with a variety of knowledge from behaviors of dogs to building a relationship and working as a team. Stacy has been beneficial in my learning process and has helped change my life and I now can operate under what most people can see as a normal environment.” Jeremy B., Richlands,...
